Poster Project

Here are the parameters of your Gig Poster Project

This year I am changing the poster project to requirements. As opposed to other projects in this class, this one will be used for our student art show on March 20. I will announce the due date for all mounted artwork to be turned in. The purpose of this project is to demonstrate how a graphic designer's work flows from the pen and paper to the computer. This will be a public show. I expect you all to participate and demonstrate what you have learned in Photoshop and Illustrator. You will be required to turn in your sketches along with an 11x17" 300 DPI printed poster. The poster should be printed at Staples the week prior to the due date in case any changes must be made. It may be either vertical or horizontal.

I will be grading your projects based on the following criteria:

  1. Coherence of information
  2. Aesthetics - effective use of visuals makes your poster easy to read. The balance and placement of text and graphics.
  3. Use of color.
  4. I will be looking for the use of the selection tools, gradients, color correction, opacity, blending modes and text.

Please design a poster for a band of your choice
A band poster will be created for the band of your choice. This poster must not consist of ripped off artwork. You must provide or create all artwork on all
layers. Photography and sketch inspiration can be turned in on a separate piece of paper.
REMEMBER: SAVE YOUR WORK REGULARLY
