Printing Crop Marks in Illustrator

Hi class. On Monday, you finished your logos and created a business card. The completed business card was then grouped and dragged onto a sheet and duplicated. I misled you with the crop marks as they did not print on your sheet of cards. Not having crop marks makes it difficult when it comes time to cut your images. After a little research I was reminded that the crop marks can be created in Illustrators filter menu.
Here are the steps for creating crop marks on the final printout.

  • Select completed card design with selection tool.
  • Go to filter-Create-Crop Marks
  • You will see the crop marks appear on the outside edge of your design.
  • Group your design and drag it over to your full Letter sized page
