Week Five Homework

Hello Class.

This week we are practicing selections with the pen tool. Please follow this link to the two images. Copy each of them and either copy and paste them into photoshop or save them onto your desktop. The first image is of a butterfly.

• In photoshop, select the dragonfly using the pen tool and the appropriate alt/option/ (these keys will depend on whether you have a PC or MAC) These keys are used to set your anchor points.

• Once you have completed the path around the butterfly, go to the paths menu and scroll down to the bottom of the paths menu to the dotted circle.
  
• Click it to turn your path into the selection.
• Now, go to the layers menu and activate (click on) the background layer again.
• Now open the other image of the roots from my website. Drag the butterfly to the roots background layer.
• Leave the image of the butterfly the same size.
  
• Flatten the image and turn it in on Monday.
